An ACT Early Childhood Educator was routinely sent home half an hour early by her employer - without advanced notification.
As a member of United Voice, the educator worked out her workplace rights were being violated.
The member was entitled to a mandatory seven days’ notice or consultation for reduced hours, which wasn't being given.
With the backing of her union, the educator won back pay for over 14 hours, amounting to an additional $300 in her pay packet.
