The four-yearly review of the Funeral Industry Award 2010 is complete, and we've had two wins for our members!
Thanks to the efforts of the United Voice industrial team, casual and part time employees will now be reimbursed for the cost of purchasing and laundering a uniform, which had previously only applied to full time staff.
Minimum engagements for casual and part time employees who work weekends (including recalls and removals)
The award contained separate, mostly shorter minimum engagement periods for work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as well as separate minimum engagement periods for recalls and removals.
Working together with the AWU, we successfully argued that the longer, standard minimum engagement periods for casuals and part time employees apply to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as well as for recalls and removals.
