Paramedics win a one-off reprieve of $190

A reprieve for hardworking AmbosQueensland’s 3000 or so paramedics have joined together and won a commitment from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to pay current employees an initial one-off application fee for their professional registration.

Recent changes to national policy mean all paramedics are now required to undertake professional registration, which will align paramedics in Queensland with those across the country and other health practitioners.

The United Voice membership called on QAS to foot the bill for this cost in order to ensure it had a workforce ready and able come registration time.

Each paramedic professional registration application fee is usually around $190, so this is a great win by and for Queensland paramedics!
