After many months of negotiations with their employer, members of Queensland Government Air (QGAir) Rescue from Cairns, Townsville and Archerfield bases reached an in-principle agreement around wages and conditions for their next certified agreement.
A key win is likely to be a 42-hour weekly roster to be paid at 38-hour ordinary time and four hours overtime putting an extra $1500 - $3000 per annum into the pockets of staff.
Other significant wins could see a $1000 increase to the crew officers’ night vision goggle allowance, increases to casual rates for Aircrew Officers and Rescue Crew Officers and an increase to the training allowance for training crew.
