The operations and maintenance of the Western Australia’s Water Corporation’s water, wastewater and drainage networks is an essential service that was privatised in 1995 by the Court Liberal Government.
Since privatised (almost 25 years ago) there have been ongoing issues including:
- insecure work
- poor standards

Members met with the Water Minister Dave Kelly to put West Australian workers and services first.
“This is historic -- Going back in house for me means more job security and more opportunities for workers.”
